GiveSmart makes good sense!

Overall Satisfaction with GiveSmart

It is used exclusively by my department, Development, and Marketing. We host 10-15 fundraising events per year. We used to get complaints at golf outings that the silent auction would close before some of the golfers got off the course. Problem solved! They now can bid without being there. GiveSmart has been incredible during COVID. We're still able to collect donations and hold auctions even though we're not in person.

Pros

  • Notifies users when they are going to be outbid-makes people bid more than they might have!
  • It's very easy to use. Put your info in and it does everything, even bids for you if you want.
  • Attendees can sign up right on the GiveSmart site.

Cons

  • Some [...] users don't want to give a credit card. Maybe come up with a way for them to pay online without a card. Not sure this is possible.
  • Make is easier to go from admin user to attendee
  • It has definitely improved our revenue on silent auctions and cash donations.
  • It's helpful to be able to go back and look at past campaigns, easily, and compare.
  • It's easy and quick to share the total revenue with attendees.
When I started in this department, we weren't using any other products like GiveSmart.
It's pretty easy to use. It definitely takes a little practice to get good at it. Easier for attendees than for administrators.
GiveSmart is very responsive when there is an issue. Never had a problem with customer service.

As I said, during COVID, it's been great. I have, personally, used it to bid on items. I love getting a notice so I can decide if I want to raise my bid. We actually have had attendees bid way over what something was worth because they didn't want to lose.
