Overall Satisfaction with GiveSmart

Our non-profit organization uses GiveSmart to run auctions, sell raffle tickets, and collect donations at all our special event fundraisers. We've found it easy for development staff to create and manage events that are user-friendly and professional. Originally purchased to supplement in-person auctions, their software was indispensable during the 2020 pivot-to-virtual. We've been able to reach a greater online audience than just those seated in the room at each event.
  • User-friendly interface, for both the non-profit event managers and our guests
  • Helpful, responsive staff
  • Reporting options are extensive and easy to use
  • Many opportunities to customize your event website
  • Opportunities to recognize sponsors on the website could be a little more robust.
  • The in-person GiveSmart staff who attend events and interface with guests have been hit or miss. I'd love to see more consistently trained, outgoing, and professional staff across the board. They've never been bad, just sometimes so-so.
  • The ability to bid virtually opens our auctions and events up to a larger audience.
  • Mobile bidding allows us to keep auctions open longer and realize revenue even after guests have been seated for dinner/are away from the physical auction items.
  • Mobile payments make the check-out process more efficient, which leads to guest satisfaction.
  • Guests have the option to pay for their credit card fees.
The software is easy for staff to use on the back end to set up and manage auctions. Customers find it user-friendly. There are many reports that allow us to drill down into the details to analyze our outcomes.
The support chat feature is extremely helpful. [The] staff [is] consistently friendly and responsive. I find the Knowledge Base to be a bit clunky but it's easy enough to just hop on a chat and get my questions answered in real-time.
It does take some time to really get in there and customize the website; however, most things can be done if you are willing to put in the work. We've been able to add additional sponsor logos, videos, photos, branding, etc. Customer support usually can provide examples or workarounds to help get the site looking exactly like you want it to. In the 5 years since we've been happy customers, the developers have been adding features as well.
We've used GiveSmart for our Gala Auction, at our Golf Classic, and for virtual fundraising. They've been great for all these scenarios. I don't have much experience with selling tickets through GiveSmart, but that option exists as well.
