Overall Satisfaction with GiveSmart

We have used GiveSmart for ticketing at our events, for silent auctions, and for fundraising. We selected the program because it could handle all of these functions. Previously, we had been using a number of programs to accomplish these tasks.

Pros

  • Silent Auction Management
  • Seamless credit card processing

Cons

  • Need option to link different bank accounts--currently only one can be used
  • Batch reporting--hard to match bank deposits to items paid
  • Navigation within the program is not user friendly
  • Auto response customization could be improved
  • It has not made an impact on our ROI.
Not as robust of a program, but lower cost and scaled for smaller businesses.
I find it very difficult to navigate between events and fundraising. I feel the menus are not intuitive so navigation within the program is time consuming and frustrating. Also, in my experience, the financial reports are not set up to match up with bank deposits which is critical when making sure tax-deductible donations are recorded correctly.
When we were sold the program, we were told that we would have 24/7 customer support. The first time I tried to contact support outside of business hours, I didn't reach anyone and they never returned my messages. When we set up a time to talk to customer support on a broader range of issues, they were responsive.

It is definitely well suited to fundraising and the silent auction functionality is great. In my experience, the event side needs work to be more user friendly.
