Overall Satisfaction with Google Chrome
Our organization uses Google Chrome to access a variety of platforms, including our HRIS, SharePoint/OneDrive/various internet resources, etc. Google Chrome is installed on all new work laptops and set to default browser, and utilized as a basis for internal browser-related guides (including downloading bookmarks when transferring to a new PC/MacBook). Employees also complete training, sign documentation, research, prepare documents, and access emails all typically within Google Chrome.
Pros
- Bookmarks
- Extensions
- Ease of navigation
- Visually appealing and customizable
Cons
- Alerting when bookmark links are broken
- Better themes; there's great groundwork, but horribly barren and lack of quality options
- Better tracking/security transparency with its users
- Alert when cache slowing down performance, and quick navigation to clear this for the less tech-savvy.
- Allowing file name edits within the quick-access download dropdown, without having to have this fully on or off, or having to navigate outside of Google Chrome
- Embedded suggestion for quick-access extensions on homepage (with option to remove suggestions easily), for ad-blocking, accessibility, etc.
- A free application
- Host to all essential apps, or their downloads
- User-friendly, instant knowledge from personal use to bring professionally
Google Chrome is the most widely used, user-friendly (especially in overall navigation), visually appealing, and easy to initially set up (unlike Edge, or even the 'blankness' that Safari often provides). It is simple for the less tech savvy, and its huge array of downloadable extensions help with everyday use for those who use more frequently, without the associated clutter. Google Chrome also remains easily accessible across PC & Mac, even visually. It's simple design is also quite timeless when compared with the strong design of Edge or Firefox.
