Overall Satisfaction with Google Classroom

We used to use Google Classroom as one of our LMS platforms, specifically for some onboarding and induction programs. We used to host some critical roles' learning paths as the New Managers program (leadership essentials), and some other Area Specific learning paths that were requested ad-hoc by their leaders, and published in this platform.

Pros

  • Learning paths
  • Learners access
  • Price (included in Google Suite)

Cons

  • Not clear tracking of learners' completion
  • Limitations on linking external content
  • User interface not that intuitive
  • It is a fast-implementing and cost-effective solution for simple learning problems
  • The user interface is not very developed and is very basic
  • This tool was very useful as an MVP for some of our programs
It is included in the Google Suite package which makes it a very easy to implement solution, but its user experience is not very developed, it can be hard for the teachers track the completion of the learners, and is not suitable for complex learning programs, also its integration with external content and videos is not very good.
Google Classroom is good for testing learning program structure in a low-cost solution. It is also good for short and simple learning paths, that need to be integrated with Google Forms or other tools from Google Suite. It stacks up against other platforms when learners already have a Google Account.

Do you think Google Classroom delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Google Classroom's feature set?

No

Did Google Classroom live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Google Classroom go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Google Classroom again?

Yes

Google Classroom is well suited for short learning content and learning paths creation. Also when you need a low budget solution for hosting lessons of a not very complex curriculum. If you would like to include quizzes or grading through Google Forms, it is useful too, and it is well integrated.
