Overall Satisfaction with Google Workspace (formerly G Suite)

Google Workspace [(formerly G Suite)] is our main email and calendar application across our organization. In addition, we use Google Meet for impromptu and scheduled internal meetings, as well as some external meetings. GMail and Google Workspace was selected as our main email platform largely due to user familiarity and its spam and malicious email filtering. When we have tried alternative email providers, even with security email filtering, we see an increase in unwanted emails.
In addition to these, we also utilize Google Workspace [(formerly G Suite)] as an identity provider for some internal tools using SAML Single Sign On. This, combined with syncing our Google accounts with our internal Active Directory service, allows us to access 3rd party tools securely and quickly.
  • Spam filtering in email
  • Single sign on
  • Calendar events combined with google meet
  • Easy to administer users and applications
  • Numerous plugins and 3rd party applications
  • Easy to use, familiar user experience
  • No dedicated client software as an option
  • Some products come and go quickly, so don't rely on non core products
  • Office applications are good for most, but lack some more advanced options
  • GMail spam filtering
  • GMail search
  • SAML Singe Sign On
  • Google Meet
  • Allows us to maintain our remote users without expensive management options
  • Keeps things simple for new hires and longer term users
  • Gmail search allows us to find the communication quickly and get information that we need.
Google Workspace [(formerly G Suite)] shares many features with it's alternatives. Ultimately, we chose Google Workspace, for now, due to it's superior spam filtering and the feedback we receive from our employees on ease of use using the tools. In addition, the 3rd party addons helped solidify how we can connect with Single Sign On. We are a Microsoft shop, so we are re-evaluating the Microsoft 365 options at this time.

Yes

For most organizations, Google Workspace [(formerly G Suite)] is a great choice. It is easy to implement and only requires a browser to get going. It is also great for customers who are looking for a Windows-less office, as Google Workspace works well on chromebooks and mobile devices, as well as Linux and Mac clients, as it doesn't require client applications.
For customers who are tied into Microsoft's Azure or Windows environments, it is less well suited. This is mostly because many organizations that already use these services can find it easier to use the Microsoft suite of applications that duplicate what Google is offering, with many upgrades for Windows users.
