Overall Satisfaction with Hippo CMMS
We use Hippo primarily in the maintenance department. We use it for asset management, inventory of parts, labor tracking (maintenance), PMs, and other work order management. Our entire company can use Hippo CMMS as a work order request tool. With a login, anyone can create work order requests. There is also tracking for their request for them to monitor.
Pros
- Work order requests are easily made and come to the appropriate person for approval. It is very intuitive, and documents/photos can be attached to a request.
- Work orders are easily completed in the system. Each task can be selected individually as complete. manuals/photos/documentation can be attached and viewed within the work order.
- Inventory is easy to search. You can search many criteria very quickly to narrow down your search. This is especially helpful when you have not entered inventory in a consistent format. You can still find what you need.
Cons
- Completed work order reporting can be improved. It seems harder than it should be to get the data I need.
- I would like to streamline the work order closing procedure. I feel like it takes longer than it should to open various screens and add labor, mark tasks complete, change status, etc. It is a minor inconvenience, but just waiting a few seconds opening up a new window is time-consuming with many WO at a time.
- Labor tracking and reporting could be improved.
- Overall Hippo has had a positive impact. The annual cost is low, and the equipment has better OEE due to better maintenance due to better tracking.
- It is easy to justify labor based on planned work and completed work. It is easy to assess the workload.
- Maintaining equipment increases production. This is a good tool for keeping equipment in good working order.
I have used AMMS extensively. Hippo is far superior to AMMS as it is much easier to manage and much more intuitive. AMMS can be managed but it is tricky. It takes some time to learn all of the ins and outs. Hippo is much easier from the start. I have looked into Bigfoot CMMS but it appears to be a slightly less attractive option. It offers many of the same functions, but at a higher cost
