Overall Satisfaction with HireVue

We currently use HireVue in two ways. HireVue Basic is a part of our teacher application system. Every applicant must record answers to 5 questions which is attached to their on-line application. Hiring supervisors view the videos during the screening process to assist in selecting finalists.

We also use HireVue Live for screening administration positions such as principals, directors and assistant superintendents. We screen candidate applications, which includes their HireVue Basic video, and select a group of candidates who we would like to invite to a first interview. The first interview is administered through HireVue Live. The interviews are then viewed by the Superintendent and hiring team. Three finalists are selected to come in for in-person interviews.
  • The quality of the HireVue Basic interviews is excellent. It provides a wonderful way for hiring supervisors to get to know candidates above their paper application.
  • HireVue Live allows ALL candidates to participate in a face to face interview. No matter where candidates live, they all can join a real time interview and do not have to travel unless selected as a finalist.
  • Hiring teams can watch the interviews anywhere and at any time!
  • We get a lot of feedback from candidates that the HireVue Basic interview is awkward, because they are looking at themselves on the computer screen. They wish they had a different picture to look at while answering questions!
  • I had a very difficult time with HireVue Live this year. The quality of the connection and the audio/visual recording were often very bad. There were many times we couldn't use the video to screen candidates because you couldn't understand what they were saying, the video would be fuzzy or the recording was blank. This is the reason why I gave an overall rating of 8.
  • Every candidate has a chance to showcase themselves and therefore principals are bringing in the top candidates for school teams to interview.
  • Time is saved with a higher quality application system. Principals have more to look at than just paper applications and can make well informed decisions about the candidates in their pool.
I do not have experience with similar products.
HireVue is a great tool for organizations to use in their hiring process. It is appropriate for all types of positions.
