Easy and fast to implement, simple to use for employees
Overall Satisfaction with Human Interest
We implemented Human Interest a few months ago when setting up a new 401(K) with employer match at our nonprofit, with about 30 eligible employees. Because of changing laws in California, we needed to implement a retirement savings plan for employees and were looking for an option that would allow us to seamlessly integrate it with our existing payroll software. Human Interest helped us to do that with few extra steps required of our HR and finance staff.
Pros
- Integrate with HR and payroll systems (we use Zenefits)
- Very quick setup & implementation
- Simple dashboard for employees
Cons
- Receipts / invoices are emailed in a weird format and not available to download off the website
- The implementation & training process is not very personalized
- Employees were very excited to have this new benefit
- Simple to manage, which means the added benefit requires almost no extra staff time to oversee
The support throughout the setup and launch process was good. I got passed between a few different people as we went through different stages of the process, but everything was pretty seamless. They also gave us a free year of the "concierge" service, though we haven't used it at all to my knowledge, so I can't really comment on the benefits of that.
- Guideline and Betterment
We selected Human Interest based on it's pricing to the organization as well as pricing for employees (there is a discount for also being a Zenefits customer), timeline for being able to set everything up, and ease of use of the system. We spoke with 4 different 401(k) plan providers and knew we wanted one that would integrate seamlessly with our payroll system (one of our main criteria)
