Understand your needs before you decide which product to implement.
The user interface on the Ustream website is very straightforward. If you can use YouTube (and nearly everyone can) then you can use Ustream.
It is used by our marketing department for company-wide town hall events and employee training.

Pros

  • Ease of use
  • Security
  • Consistent - always works

Cons

  • The ability to have a contract where you perform your broadcast and then get billed afterwards for the exact amount of traffic/seats used. This would be more efficient for customers and help avoid lockouts if there aren't enough seats.
  • Internal video communications from executives
  • Training courses
  • Human Resources on-boarding presentations
  • Quarterly updates with a sales team

Evaluating IBM Watson Media's Video Streaming and Competitors

IBM Cloud Video is the most professional and easiest to use out of all of them. While you certainly pay for these things, they are worth it if your company is serious about doing video streaming the right way.
