Overall Satisfaction with IBM Maximo Application Suite
I've connected vibration and temperature sensors from our CNC machines and compressors into IBM Maximo Application Suite. The system triggers a work order before those readings drift outside acceptable limits. This way, we've been able to shift from reactive firefighting to a more predictive model.
Pros
- IBM Maximo Application Suite gives me a single place where service cycles are standardized and tied to compliance.
Cons
- I often have to manually adjust downtime reports so they separate scheduled maintenance from unplanned outages. i am not a fan of these types of tasks
- The mobile app xp always feels like they put so little thought into it.
- Before implementation 2 years ago, we averaged 2 to 3 major unplanned outages per quarter costing the company something upwards of 50k.
Predictive maintenance workflows and tight integration between work orders and inventory
We can isolate recurring issues at the subassembly level which was impossible with our old system.
The other things like compliance reports could still be done with the other system, just not as efficiently as IBM Maximo Application Suite

SAP lacked the depth in IOT driven predictive maintanace like IBM Maximo Application Suite
