Overall Satisfaction with IBM Maximo Application Suite
My client uses Maximo for procurement and asset management. The procurement team uses Maximo to manage vendor relationships, track MSAs and SOWs, and ensure adequate governance is in place. From an asset perspective, they use Maximo to track inventory across warehouses and place automated replenishment orders when inventory levels are low.
Pros
- Workflow
- Asset tracking.
- Integration with other apps.
Cons
- Likely a configuration aspect the client hasn't pursued, but lots of menus that lead to dead ends, at least with my permission levels.
- Positive impact on time savings for contract aggregation.
- Reduces manual tasks and allows employees to self serve.
I appreciate how broad and modular the suite is. The ability to pull in various components of functionality to solve specific business problems, without making it a massive tool with pieces that may not be used, is helpful in meeting business needs. I appreciate how user-friendly the front end is.
Maximo has been in place for a while, so there isn't new functionality per se, and I am not familiar with the way the processes were done before Maximo was implemented.
