Overall Satisfaction with IBM SPSS Statistics

We use IBM SPSS Statistics for data analysis and to gather statistical insights into our vast amount of data. We use it for initial data exploration and run basic regression and other statistical models to probe our trading data.
It helps us evaluate our hypotheses and complements our preparation work as we build larger machine learning models

Pros

  • High accuracy
  • Data interrogation
  • Speed
  • Graphs

Cons

  • Integration with other tools
  • pricing
  • training and user community
  • Helps us complete initial analysis quicker
  • Makes POC's faster with better visual aids
  • Helps teams collaborate on analysis
We've been able to derive insights and "fail faster" which ends up saving lot of time which is otherwise spent cleaning data and trying to derive insights where there are none. It has also helped us communicate with non-technical business users effectively with the help of visual graphs and charting
Improved quality and turnover of POC's, helped with analyzing large datasets.
Complements our reporting framework as we can do some analysis far quicker in this tool
We used IBM SPSS Statistics as it works well with the other IBM tools that we use. It may not work as well for smaller organizations with limited budget/resources.
We have a mix of technical and devops people and this tool is easily used by everyone on the team globally.

Do you think IBM SPSS Statistics delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with IBM SPSS Statistics's feature set?

Yes

Did IBM SPSS Statistics live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of IBM SPSS Statistics go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy IBM SPSS Statistics again?

Yes

IBM SPSS Statistics is well suited for academic and other beginner use cases where data sets are limited and there are no major requirements for data security and access controls.
For users who are good at programming in R, python etc, this may be of less utility as sometimes I prefer to do analysis in a notebook where I have more control
