One Place for All My Monitoring Needs
Overall Satisfaction with IBM Turbonomic
IBM Turbonomic lets me keep an eye on both our infrastructure and our apps in one spot, it also lets me keep track of logs, metrics and traces across Backend, Frontend and third-party APIs.
Pros
- i can track frontend errors down to the exact line and even open them in my IDE
- it’s easy to correlate spikes across services which speeds up debugging
- the integrations with Slack, OpsGenie, and cloud providers save me setup time
Cons
- it’s really expensive
- configuring dashboards or monitors can feel overwhelming since the platform is too big
- some things require going deep into documentation
- it has reduced downtime by helping us catch issues quickly with real-time alerts
- faster incident response has saved both time and customer frustration
- the ability to proactively spot anomalies has kept our systems more reliable
The most valuable thing is having logs, metrics and traces together so I don’t have to switch tools and the dashboards are clear and let me spot issues or bottlenecks right away.
IBM Turbonomic helped to centralize observability across the whole stack, so that monitoring feels complete. It has made on-call work much easier, since I can jump between logs and metrics quickly to find root causes.
