Overall Satisfaction with Insightly
I use Insightly to keep track of the business development activity for my company. The main requirements are: prompt follow up phone calls, emails etc, and to keep records of previous interactions. Cross-linking tasks to organisations and projects is also useful. We are too small to have departments!
Pros
- It is very easy to set up contacts, tasks, projects, organisations, etc., and to set up cross-links between them.
- The task list provides me with a convenient list of jobs to do each day, and it is very easy to tick them as I do them.
- Emails related to particular contacts or tasks can easily be saved with them - even if sent from outside Insightly.
Cons
- It would be better if similar actions always worked the same way. For example if you edit a field, sometimes you have to save by clicking an adjacent tick box, sometimes a Save button [appears] at the top of the page, and possibly sometimes nothing.
- Sometimes if you go to the detail on a list (say the contacts list), when you return you go back to the top. You should go back to where you were.
- Improved efficiency
Insightly has enabled me to keep track of contacts and actions in relation to them in a disciplined way, instead of relying on my memory or scraps of paper, which was at best hit and miss. The critical factor is that it is sufficiently easy to use that I do actually use it.
I used no others before. I simply looked at on-line reviews of free software to make a choice, and Insightly appeared to offer the best fit to my needs in free software.
