Overall Satisfaction with Intellimize

Intellimize is used by our Demand Generation Web Team. We use it primarily to run experiments, personalizations, and multivariate testing on the website. With Intellimize we're able to target different user segments, drive insights, and obtain more MQLs for our organization. Intellimize has native integration with Marketo and allows us to also view user journey information to determine where exactly our audiences are converting most frequently--or not at all.
  • CSM and Engineering resources are available with Intellimize and allows us to spend more time thinking about new ideas to implement.
  • AI/Machine Learning allows winning personalizations to continually run or switch between variants for users that may convert better based on firmographic data
  • The CSM is a wonderful collaborator and acts as a liaison between Intellimize's engineering team. With their help, I am able to better refine my own testing roadmap.
  • No WYSIWIG Editor
  • Limited to only 5 tests a week
  • QA of larger tests that require heavier engineering effort can often run longer than a week and can block the already limited number of tests you can run
  • CSM & Engineering support
  • Robust metrics and dashboard features, including custom date ranges and able to filter to deeper level metrics from MQL to revenue
  • User journey reporting and being able to slice audience segments
  • Increased revenue
  • Helped us build out many tests that had the impact of many years of learnings
  • Contributed to more MQLs influenced
Intellimize is a league above products like VWO and Google Optimize. Simply having the support from an external engineering team gives your web team the freedom and bandwidth to do more.

The level of support for Google Optimize is entirely limited, especially if you're using the free version of that product, and I am skeptical of paying Google for the paid version of it since the largest value of the paid version of Optimize, is to simply run more tests.

VWO has amazing heatmap and reporting, but severely lacks any Machine Learning or firmographic data. While their support is exceptional, it's not the same as having a dedicated CSM to help plan a roadmap.

It's also helpful to note that VWO, Google Optimize, and Intellimize have issues with single page applications. Static websites are likely to run entirely fine without issue.

Intellimize has done a great job of targeting our highest trafficked pages. For a demand generation organization it helps provide a lot value for places like the homepage or various high value funnels. Where Intellimize falls short is where we have a specific technology stack that often causes issues for us being able to run tests at scale because some experiments break or fail to run. Please do yourself a favor and evaluate this tool with your development team before purchasing. Single Page Applications do have re-rendering issues given some experiments which lead to run-time issues that need to be heavily QA'd before launch. For teams that are ecommerce or have a typical technology stack (e.g. wordpress and static pages), then Intellimize will probably work without any issues.

Evaluating Intellimize and Competitors

Yes - VWO was replaced by Intellimize with the hope that dedicated support by way of a CSM and engineering team would add a tremendous amount of value for our web team.

VWO was great and had a functional WYSIWIG that malfunctioned on our website and couldn't render our experiments as we would have liked. That being said, Intellimize was able to address these issues and deliver experiences that we wanted--but just not at the speed we would have hoped or was sold on.
  • Product Features
  • Product Usability
We were sold on the speed and power of Intellimize to do 42x more ROI than any other platform.

During a trial, we didn't achieve 42x, we did achieve enough ROI that Intellimize was still a great partner and powerful contributor to our technology stack so we decided to stay on.

The machine learning functionality was also very intriguing and offered a seemingly powerful host of features, but given the nature of our demand-generation team, personalizations over insights was less preferable than driving statistical significance for our core audiences. Therefore, we ended up not using the ML as much to our advantage. eCommerce teams will likely benefit from Intellimize more than we would.
Moving forward, our development team will need to be on the call to evaluate how exactly the vendor's API integrates with our technology stack. This is probably the best way to fully vet any claims that the sales or product teams may hinge on--but until we are certain that our engineers are confident in the platform, then we'll likely not purchase.
