Overall Satisfaction with Jamf Pro
I use Jamf Pro to manage our organization's Mac infrastructure. We have 2 unique environments, our users (employees and executives) and our staging environment. For our users, we are just starting to implement a self-service only model, restricting users from installing apps, updates or peripheral to only self-service. For our staging environment, I am able to push configurator blueprints, application updates, general maintenance and keep up with inventory all through our Jamf Pro portal. All the functionality of Jamf Pro has reduced the time spent on general IT support issues and allowed us to deploy and manage our Macs with easy.
- We have a fleet of staging devices that require constant software pushes, specifically configurator blueprints. Utilizing Jamf tools (composer) I create a DMG and deploy though Jamf with ease.
- Pushing a script to a Mac is so simple. Tasks that took hours to complete manually are now done in minutes (sometimes seconds)
- Keeping up with inventory is a simple task. Reports can be generated in seconds!
- Jamf Pro is an enormous resource that is capable of so many features and options. I rely heavily on Jamf Nation for assistance. I'd [like] a more robust help feature from within the portal, even a quick link to Jamf Nation would be helpful.
- I'd like the ability to execute policies to single Mac from the Device's info screen.
- Simpler way to deploy/build a package for Microsoft Office. (However, this will probably be taken care of once it's in the Mac App Store.)
- Like most tools in the IT world, Jamf does require training. But once you've become fluent with the GUI, tasks that were once daunting become simple! We have regained large amounts of time in our day due to the efficiencies of Jamf Pro.
