Overall Satisfaction with Jira Work Management

Our company decided to use Jira to manage the day by day activities of all teams. Jira Work Management came into play to streamline and connect different areas (commercial, pre-sales and technical), while at the same time making easier for Project Managers to handle the interconnections among those teams inside projects.

Pros

  • Simplify Task creation
  • Makes collaboration on projects easier
  • Customizable Workflows

Cons

  • Reporting sometimes can be hard to setup
  • Needs to be used upon a "well setup" Jira
  • The initial setup can be tricky
  • Less overwhelmed PMs are always good
  • Project followed from sale opportunity to final release
  • Better tracked tasks
Jira Work Management has a lot of features, which means a lot of configurations. The first thing that you have to do is understand what you really need before even starting the configuration. Once done, there is a little bit of learning curve to climb but, in the end, it becomes easier and easier to use in time.
Trello and Jira Work Management are similar in concept, but the only real benefit of Trello is that is free and, if you already have an instance of Jira, Jira Work Management is worth the price because it's a plugin for your already configured product.

Jira is an extremely versatile solution that can be used in a broad range of industries and companies of different size. Jira Work Management is aimed more to companies with complex projects and different POCs, where workflows involve multiple departments and it's easier to loose track of tasks: in these cases it can be a life saver for Project Managers. For smaller companies, with "simpler" projects, can be overkill (but still useful)
