Reliable simple SaaS backup that just works
Overall Satisfaction with Keepit
We have been using Keepit for number of years to backup several SaaS platforms. We find it very reliable with backups running automatically. It’s basically set and forget, and this is exactly what we need from a backup solution. Onboarding was straightforward, agentless cloud to cloud, so setup is simple and expertly guided by Keepit. Support has been excellent for the few times we’ve needed it. Our Keepit account manager is only too happy to demo new features and answer questions and a dream to work with, we are a small org and you don’t often get that level of customer care, so it’s a credit to the Keepit team. For us the search and granular restore is an important feature. It makes it easy to recover exactly what you need without fuss. It has some nice GDPR features like the 'right to be forgotten' option and regional data storage so we can keep out backups in the EU. Very useful from a compliance perspective. For us, the fact that it supports multiple SaaS platforms was important, it means we can use a single backup platform instead of juggling several tools. In summary, it is reliable, easy to set up and just works. No complaints, it’s a solid service with great support.
Pros
- Automated Backups
- Simple granular restore
- Supports multiple SaaS platforms
Cons
- Backup VM's would be nice
- A single platform means less management overhead
- Saves time and paperwork managing multiple services and vendors
- It just works and doesn't need constant monitoring, it was difficult for us to stop constantly checking that backups worked!
We rely on Keepit to keep all our SaaS data safe, it just works. We have had a number of accidental deletions and the need to access ex-employee mailboxes to find data that wasn't handed over before departure. Handling restores was simple, in some cases the deletion was significant and Keepit handled it very well. Keepit has a great secure sharing feature, allowing a manager to access an ex-employee mailbox is as simple as sharing a time sensitive and password protected link. No need to restore files at all, this feature saved us a lot of fuss.
The console interface is clean, an IT admins dream. It's very intuitive. I can testify to this as a manager that rarely needs to do restores, but being a small org the need arises from time to time. When an interface is intuitive it means infrequent users like me can easily jump back in and do the job. Even the occasional user won't be phased. It is low impact in terms of staff training.
We previously used Veeam to backup data from O365 to local servers. We had other SaaS platforms we needed to include and move from local to cloud backups. While Veeam does have multiple cloud options but compared with Keepit it was overly complicated and less cost effective. Keepit was a no-brainer in terms of simplicity and having a single 360 dashboard.
