Overall Satisfaction with Kemp LoadMaster

The entire company uses our two Kemp X1 load masters every day. The work together to provide SSO to Office 365, and other 3rd party software. They handle load balancing of our on prem exchange, and handle our on prem Skype for Business phone system.
  • Set it up and it runs with little to no maintenance.
  • Handles all workloads that need to be load balanced.
  • User choice of basic or advanced setups depending on need.
  • Migration to different units is very simple.
  • Backup process is very easy.
  • I really have nothing bad to say about the Kemp. It has worked great.
  • We have 100% uptime with services.
  • In 10 years we have had one Kemp fail, it was replaced by support no outage.
Many of our solutions can also be handled by DNS load balancing. That just never felt like a solid solution compared to the Kemp.
For the person that configures the kemp it is very straightforward, you really have 3 choices - click around and you can get to the end, use one of the configuration documents provided by Kemp which are very easy to follow and will cover any topic you have, or, my favorite, open a support ticket and talk with the Kemp tech. They will discuss your plan and help you configure it exactly how you want. For example you can run an SSL passthrough or not on many services. They can help you with deciding what works best for your environment.
I have never had a time when I needed help and did not get it. In 10 years we had one Kemp fail, it was a HD failure. I opened a ticket, they sent me a return label, I sent it back and a fixed Kemp was sent back. We don't have next day because we run two Kemps in a cluster. So I racked it up and joined it to cluster, than it was back like nothing happened. All the while end users never noticed anything changed.

Skype for Business (formerly Lync), MS SharePoint, Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365)
If you are trying to build any system in a redundant fashion I would look to Kemp to provide the solution. For us we use SSO, I am able to have internal, and external SSO address that just live virtually inside the Kemp than routing to the ADFS and Proxy accordingly. This allows me to reboot ADFS servers without any concern for users losing access. That is the same with Skype for Business, and Exchange on prem. This allows for Windows updates without having to schedule down time.
