Overall Satisfaction with Klipfolio

I have three clients currently using Klipfolio. It's mainly used by marketing teams to follow business metrics such as sales (online and offline) sources, campaign performance, call center volume of calls received, website traffic and Facebook measurements. Dashboards are built to answer both marketing specialist needs like to follow daily campaign spends but it's also used by director and VPs to quickly have access to current sales volume and forecasts.
  • Klipfolio can source the data used from Dropbox to easily incorporate offline data such as targets in Excel files or call center data exported in CSV files.
  • The UI is easy to use while still being very powerful. If you know Excel formulas, you will quickly find your way in Klipfolio.
  • Dashboards created in Klipfolio are automatically resized based on the device used. Even on mobile phones with 5-inch screens, VP can remotely access their business KPIs and have near real-time data.
  • Klipfolio support in excellent. They offer live chat and a very rich QA section. When you first register, you can participate in online training to get you started as quickly as possible.
  • Klipfolio licencing is very affordable.
  • Klipfolio is not a reporting tool such as Tableau nor Power BI. It's a real dashboard solution meant at visualizing KPIs. If you need a reporting solution to investigate and drill deeper into datasets, Klipfolio is not for that.

Klipfolio is certainly the best solution for dashboards. Compared to Power BI, Power BI is more of an analyst tool to build deep analysis and reports. Making and sharing dashboards in Power BI is a pain. Tableau is great but cost way more. Also, the skills needed to build and maintain Tableau dashboards is more demanding. However Tableau is also a powerful reporting and data management solution.

For a simple and cost-effective dashboard solution, Klipfolio can't be beaten.

I've built dashboards on Klipfolio using very different sources. From Excel files to SQL, Google Analytics, Facebook's business manager, Call center data or inventory, Klipfolio seems to always be able to automate data pulls. One of the cool features is the Dropbox integration that enables any low tech and legacy data sources to be automated using a Dropbox account. There is also an email connector allowing data to be sent to Klipfolio in an email attachment.
Sharing and accessing data in Klipfolio is very easy. Anyone with the proper access rights can view and use different dashboards. One thing that could be added is annotation. For example, if there is a decrease in sales and the sales manager wants to add an explanation, this is not possible directly in the tool. I would usually build a connection between a Google Sheet file and a Klipfolio. The Google Sheet would be the source for all annotations. I would like to see an annotation engine build directly in the dashboards.
Klipfolio would work best in an open communication team where showing performance for each team is key. Dashboards would help everyone in the team/organization to identify how their actions and being transferred to positive effects on KPIs. By removing the knowledge barriers between different source systems such as Google Analytics, Survey Monkey, Google Ads or SQL databases, any user can view performance in a common visual interface provided by Klipfolio.
