Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use KnowBe4 across the whole organization as a Security Awareness Training Platform and for simulated phishing attacks. The built-in ASAP module generated tasks that needed to be completed to get the most out of KnowBe4 based on our questionnaire feedback. The training catalog has more than 800 pieces of training for different target groups. We enroll users in mandatory training and assign non-mandatory educational videos related to phishing, mobile security, privacy. We've noticed that our users behave correctly with unknown senders and request IT security support more often.

Pros and Cons

Pros

More than 800 training modules for different target groups like regular users, HR, and IT administrators.
Curated phishing email templates.
Ability to create our own phishing email templates, landing pages and upload our own training content.

Cons

Not possible to upload images to use in test phishing emails. Images should be on our servers with public access to use image link in the email templates.

Return on Investment

Users become more involved in security awareness.
Phish-prone users decreased and users reported more suspicious emails to IT.

Alternatives Considered

Proofpoint Security Awareness Training (formerly Wombat Security)

Wombat Security has less training for users and the user-interface is inconsistent.

For our needs, KnowBe4 is well suited. For example, we can enroll users with simulated phishing campaigns and assign remediation training automatically for failed users. We haven't noticed any applications KnowBe4 would be less suited for.
