Power PDF Advanced

Overall Satisfaction with Kofax Power PDF (formerly Nuance)

My entire organization uses Kofax Power PDF Advanced. Our law firm uses it to apply Bates Numbering; to add Digital or Handwritten Signatures to PDFs or upload PDFs for electronic signature to a third party vendor, such as DocuSign; applying OCR and converting PDFs to Word, Excel or PowerPoint format; and scrubbing metadata from files.
  • Applying OCR to make PDFs searchable.
  • Converting PDFs to Word, Excel, or PowerPoint.
  • Uploading to electronic signature platforms.
  • Creating a table of contents for a combined PDF from separate PDF files.
  • PDF conversion to Word needs improvements; reading converted result as a continuous document, rather than page by page.
  • Kofax has issues opening PDFs after Microsoft preview pane is enabled in File Explorer.
  • Better support for comparing documents of mixed file types.
  • Cost savings
  • Time savings
  • One time license fee for each user; no ongoing subscription is required!
We tested a variety of PDF software, and Power PDF's technical functionality, packaged in an easy-to-use interface, made it the clear winner among the other vendors.
Simply put, Kofax Power PDF has greater technical function than the other vendors we tested, and we liked the pricing structure compared to others (one-time license fee v. ongoing subscription).
The 'Help' tab usually answers our questions, but the Kofax website has an entire Knowledge Base to help with specific problems.
