Overall Satisfaction with Kronos Workforce Ready
In my role, Kronos is mainly used in payroll and the tracking and reporting of FTE hours. It's simplistic and relatively simple to get a handle of, however, it's simplicity comes at a cost. Many of the processes for entering/correcting time are very tedious and consume a lot time. This is partially due to the way it is implemented, however, there are some options which can be selected which make absolutely no sense to have, such as the ability to "view open timecards" which allows you to edit a punch in or out without entering the specific punch. This seems like something that should be the default as it makes edits much simpler and the extra step of having to "open the timecard" is completely useless. It's user interface is not the prettiest, but it certainly gets the job done.
- Simple
- Easy to implement
- Reporting is fairly good
- Customization
- Ugly UI
- Edits can feel like a hassle
- Some customization options make no sense to have
- Tracking overtime and attending to excess spending.
- Punch in/out function for associates decreases time needed to get to work.
- Missed punches can take excess time from managers having to go in and adjust.
Workday is a far more modern HRIS with a far more vibrant and intelligent UI and reporting. Kronos is the "old reliable" and while at times can feel clunky, will certainly do the job and do it well. Both have their uses and there is certainly a trade-off, however, I would consider Kronos, if not simply for it's reliability in timekeeping alone.
