Overall Satisfaction with Lifesize Video Conferencing
Emerson College Boston campus has 4 Lifesize units installed, 2 in class rooms and 2 in conference rooms, we mainly use them to communicate with our LA campus (they have 2 rooms with Cisco systems) or guests on the Lifesize Cloud app. The Lifesize Cloud app is easy to use since it is web based and guests don't need to hassle with much sign-up/ installation restrictions. Last semester a weekly class communicated across the country (Boston - LA) and shared presentations using the Lifesize system with some ease (we had minor audio feedback issues but it seemed to be from the LA side using the Cisco system) but overall it was successful.
- We used a laptop to host a Lifesize Cloud session at a remote location, the participants were able to join with ease on their laptops.
- Creating cloud rooms and dial-in instructions are really simple.
- In my experience the connection is steady and video quality is better than expected.
- The in-room control unit can be hard to navigate with so many detailed menus.
- Having to whitelist certain IP addresses on a regular basis can be annoying.
