Overall Satisfaction with LogMeIn Rescue
Remote administration of computers. Install software and troubleshoot problems.
Pros
- Indefinite connection time.
- Automatic reconnect after reboot.
- Transfer session to other technicians.
- Ease of use.
Cons
- Confirmation screens sometimes are hidden.
- System tries to logon to computer with LogMeIn account name. Would prefer to stop at the computer login since I sometimes have to use alternate accounts located on remote computer.
- Ability to hide console on remote system and set permissions on who can shut down remote client.
- Reduce travel.
- Reduce overtime cost.
Ease of use, supports PC and Mac. Does not support Chromebooks.

Industry-Specific Usage
We currently have employees that have work from home arrangements. Due to security concerns, remote access is not permitted, however, with this tool, I am able to connect to users remotely and carry out IT task remotely without the limitations placed upon us with the security policies that are applied to the system.
The LogMeIn Rescue program has saved our organization countless hour of productivity by allowing our IT personnel to remotely and efficiently carry out routine system updates, program installation and configurations without the user having to bring their system to us. The user does not have to waste valuable company time waiting on their system to be serviced at our company IT department and wait for its return.
- Critical System updates that may affect system security
- Install software remotely for users
- Troubleshoot or assist users with program issues
- Guide users through task they are not familiar with
- Allows us to perform task that only system administrators have permissions to carry out.
- Remotely access systems that are setup to operate equipment connected to it without a user present.
- Connect remote systems to video conferencing sessions without having to physically access the system. (eg. connect video conference in classroom for students when no instructor present)
- Allow monitoring of critical systems to see see if it is operating via remote console.
- Provide support to students at home when problems arise
- Provide support for staff that work off site
- Operate remote systems that are not onsite and hard to access
I would highly recommend this product to any IT professional. Its has a multitude of functions that pretty much cover all IT task that can be performed remotely. It can save you and your organization time and money that is very valuable. I have been using this program for several years and it is a very important part of my toolbox.
