Overall Satisfaction with LogMeIn Rescue

We use LogMeIn Rescue mainly for remoting into devices, typically to resolve any IT issues. There are many business problems addressed by this product. The first issue it resolves is it allows for users to interface with personnel and resolve issues remotely. It also keeps a great record of all the activities perform and it creates a secure connection between IT and its users. Furthermore, it is quite easy to use and is very user-friendly.

  • Positive Impact: Very easy to use and applicable to many devices.
  • Positive Impact: Allowed for immediate IT resolution, which was doubly helpful during COVID-19 remote working.
  • Negative Impact: No mic capabilities made Teams a better alternative.
I am an end user. Because I am in the Automation space, I am more familiar with LogMeIn Rescue. As long as someone walks the user through the process of downloading the run file, installing the program, and allowing for remote access to one's device, then there should be no complications. However, I have heard horror stories about the difficulty of this process.
It usually allowed for a secure connection to be established once I - as the user - established a trusted connection with the individual remoting into my device. This is doubly true in the case where file transfer is involved as there had to be satisfactory security requirements met to ensure no data was compromised during the remote session.
Because I want to make sure my device and data is secure.
This doesn't apply to me as I don't use LogMeIn Rescue's customizability feature? Since I am more on the user end, I have limited access to this; this is more of a question to the agent. I will say that I have not explored any customizations on the user end and it was not necessary for me at the time.
LogMeIn Rescue was definitely more rudimentary than Teams. The fact that Teams already helps to coordinate meetings and organize my calendar allows for Teams to be an all-in-one tool to allow for proper screen sharing and remote capabilities with the handy mic tool. Furthermore, Teams has a chat retention policy and tight security, so that's always great to have.

Like I mentioned before, LogMeIn Rescue was an excellent support tool for IT technicians to support end users with any issues they experienced.
They also helped with file transfer, which was useful when users had to elaborate on the issues they experienced. Because of the mic issues, it did make simultaneous coordination on devices very difficult.
