Overall Satisfaction with ManageEngine Endpoint Central
Primarily we are introducing MEEC imaging, app deployment patch management and security policies to our Windows devices (around 4000), replacing SCCM and Intune. We are also testing a handful of Apple and Samsung devices to check the viability of moving all devices to ME and replacing Jamf and Intune as MDMs.
Pros
- Patch management is far easier than SCCM, with a much better GUI and directed downloads. I like the fact I don't have to go checking every product website anymore.
- Tools for handling different OS' in one platform are uniform, making it easier to have unified compliance across all types of device without having to learn several different MDMs
- Our past asset management has been laborious. Now it is integrated into device management and our service desk there is far less duplication of admin and it's way more effective.
Cons
- User based security policies (currently only by device) would help us as we have end users with far different restrictions using the same devices.
- Although starting with a new system can be daunting, ME has allowed us to start again, examining the bad habits we used to have and vulnerabilities we weren't addressing or even aware of.
Jamf was always easier to use and than our Intune and SCCM setups. ManageEngine gives us that usability across all our supported platforms instead of just Apple, enough that we are now considering retiring Jamf
