Overall Satisfaction with ManageEngine Endpoint Central

We required a software package that allowed us to: remote support users and pcs, deploy software remotely, deploy OS’s quickly, and patch machines- Endpoint Central did all of this, primarily we use the remote support agent for day to day issues where users require ‘hands on’ (but still virtual) help with applications, this allows us to work from wherever and support users that may be in hard to reach places

Pros

  • product support - the technicians at ManageEngine Endpoint Central are very knowledgeable when it comes to the system- I have never had an issue not fixed promptly by them
  • The OS deployment tool saves us a significant amount of time and man hours in deploying machines- from manual setups taking 1-2 hours to complete per device, to 6 minutes each, is all the proof you need
  • Being able to remotely and silently install packages of software e.g Foxit PDF viewer, means we can instantly give hundreds or even thousands of machines a piece of software that before using EC, would have taken weeks to do, even with multiple technicians

Cons

  • Pricing- it is kind of expensive compared to some other support companies
  • Migration from onprem to cloud can be awkward in terms of technicality- there should be an easier option rather than taking multiple days/weeks to be able to migrate all machines
  • UI and reporting could maybe be improved to visibility, some areas are hard to read
  • Positive- saves the technicians time that can be used for other IT admin tasks. This saves money by not having to have multiple technicians doing the same task
It is a relatively easy system to use provided you have enough IT experience or know what you are looking for- some parts could be improved for example the reporting- or raising of support issues in terms of downloading ‘logs’ and uploading to their support page- if this was automatic it would save a lot of time
ManageEngine Endpoint Central has more modules- like MDM and OS deployer, I am not aware if either of the solutions I have used before have this functionality

ManageEngine Endpoint Central is useful for most if not all IT management and support tasks- for example you are required to install a specific version of software, e.g. Java 1.8.1, you can package this into a software deployment package- and it can be instantly deployed to as many machines as you want. This saves countless hours of individual installations
