Overall Satisfaction with ManageEngine Endpoint Central

We are using it as MDM and inventory tool for managing all of our cooperate owned devices which includes keeping track of assignments, license management, anti-virus, bitlocker, patch management, DLP, etc.
We also using partially the self service portal for distribution of the softwares. Helping us do overall endpoint management across organization.

Pros

  • Remote Access
  • Device info logging
  • patch management

Cons

  • Very complex set up both for on prem deployment and overall UX is bad.
  • Need linux based deployments
  • Buggy and slow at times
  • Helped getting compliant easily
  • Simplified process of software distribution
  • tracking became easy
Software is a bit complex and slow. Support is also very limited in nature, you need dedicated resource to manage and run it smoothly, bugs often create problem. UI is laggy and slow, needs to polished for better experience. On prem deployment lacks linux support which increases the overall cost of running if you are small business
It turned out to be cheaper as compared to MS intune which offered better stability and ease of operation but it also comes with added modules like browser protection, remote connectivity over https. DLP module is another thing which pushed us towards this, overall good product but yes there is lot of room for improvement specially on UI front

Yes

Small organizations with limited resources may go with cloud model which take away hassle of deployment update and backups etc. At minimum it does almost all required tick mark activities with least effort.

If you have very large org with too many complex things and devices are not very capable does use it, agent is buggy and creates problem with under speced devices
