Overall Satisfaction with ManageEngine Endpoint Central

We use Endpoint Central to manage all endpoints, ie. All Desktops, Laptops and Servers. it is used address various problems, including Vulnerability management, Patching requirements and compliance. It also helps with asset management and software licensing and management. We also are trying out the MDM features. It is also useful for remote control of devices.

Pros

  • Remote management
  • Hardware / Software inventory of machines
  • Compliance Scanning

Cons

  • Vulnerability scanning is sometimes inaccurate
  • Patching solution requires work when dealing with Linux servers
  • Improved efficacy of support staff
ManageEngine products on the whole are usable but their interfaces can feel like they're created for small children. They also do not always carry the interface experience across products so there can be a learning curve across the suite. There are some accuracy errors in patch management and vulnerability management which could be a negative in more strict environments.

Based on my experience, I imagine ManageEngine Endpoint Central is probably better suited to smaller companies as opposed to larger organizations as there are more specialized products that would perform better. That said, the integration with other ManageEngine products means it is effective when combined with the rest of the suite of products offered by ManageEngine.
