Overall Satisfaction with ManageEngine OpManager

I use OpManager daily for network, server and firewall monitoring. It has great alerts like rouge detection and failures throughout the network. Firewall rules can be managed on it as well as any alert you have setup for threshold peaks and just overall switch and router health. It has so many different uses. The problem it has solved for us is network transparency. We can see a lot more of the things going on with our systems and network with this product

Pros

  • Rogue detection for people who just plug in my network
  • threshold monitoring when spikes of data usage are moving across the Newtwork
  • alerts when thing are removed or added to the network and alerts on port failure

Cons

  • I find it difficult sometimes to setup certain monitor
  • other uses I am not taking advantage of I am sure there are many
  • training on setting up proper monitors
  • it has been a money saver for us to use ourselves
  • the ROI was early and well worth the money
  • the support has always been great when I have an issue
I find it easy to use even for beginner there are links to knowledge base to help in need as well as the fast response from their support team
it is great. Not opensource. Ours was run by a 3rd party provider who had their own version of Nmap. The setup and use is simple and get tons of output in reports and alerts. I would like to get more use of this product as I learn more about it

Do you think ManageEngine OpManager delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with ManageEngine OpManager's feature set?

Yes

Did ManageEngine OpManager live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of ManageEngine OpManager go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy ManageEngine OpManager again?

Yes

Carbon Black Endpoint, Nmap, Bitdefender Network Traffic Security Analytics (discontinued)
As a bank this has suited us well as we do not need 3rd party vendors trying to manage our network. It might not be suitable if it is placed in an environment where you have the one switch and possibly a firewall or very limited production
