Overall Satisfaction with Matillion

We use Matillion extract data and push it into our data warehouse for our entire organization to use to report on metrics and drive KPIs. We had multiple disparate systems that updated at different times causing discrepancies in our data and by using Matillion to pull the data into our new warehouse it solved those problems

Pros

  • Matillion was very user-friendly with its easy GUI
  • Matillion has great traceability between source and destination instances
  • Matillion is reasonably priced based on usage needs

Cons

  • Matillion seems to lack an in-depth user community (but looks like it is growing)
  • Matillion is easy to use but seems to have some gaps in documentation
  • After implementation, report creation takes minutes instead of hours
  • Easy to use GUI gets new resources up to speed in hours instead of days
Simple GUI and straightforward mapping tools and job status dashboard
2-3 months to get 75% of our structures built and data loaded
We're not at that point yet.
Matillion seemed more robust than Fivetran and was easier to use.
Simplifying our multiple data instances into an easy to use format for reporting
