Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Dynamics GP
Microsoft Dynamics GP replaced an older system. It is used across the organization and supports the main accounting and payables functions. Due to the highly specialized billing requirements of our business we use a custom billing software.
Pros
- Detailed expense tracking
- Unitary accumulation and reporting (operating statistics)
Cons
- Statistical reporting is troublesome, not very robust
- Management Reporter can cause challenges to getting the data required; requires a super expert user to figure out. We have been fortunate in having a personal friend as an expert, otherwise we would end up paying exhorbitant prices to design what should be routine reports.
- Improved reporting over previous system
TechSoup had great privcing, I had experince with GP in previous companys and there are a lot of staff accountants who have relevant experience.
Microsoft Dynamics GP Feature Ratings
Using Microsoft Dynamics GP
5 - All of our business functions are on Dynamics. This includes Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Inventory, Fixed Assets, GL (accounting and reporting), Revenue Management and Financial Planning and Analysis. Inventory and Fixed assets were the latest functions to come up on Dynamics. We had deferred the go-live to allow our distributed business locations to implement a custom front end medical supply and drug inventory managment system. With that go-live in July, we are fully operation o the Dynamics platform.
