Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Microsoft Entra ID (and prior to this name change, Microsoft AzureAD) as part of our core user management system as part of Microsoft 365. The utilisation of this system means that we are able to slowly break away from our local AD infrastructure and move towards a fully cloud rich environment.

Management of Users
Simpler interface for managing AD based functions
Access to all functions whcih previously required a lot of drilling down or remote access

Cons

Don't change the name! Keep naming standards in place!
Don't wildly change the interface!
Don't over complicate the interface - bring commonly used features front and center

It has made it easier for us and the IT team to assist users
It has allowed for quicker adoption of cloud based solutions

Microsoft Entra ID is well suited to anyone who utilises the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. It is also well suited to those that are wanting to move into the Microsoft ecosystem and migrate away from their local Active Directory environment. It is also useful for those that still have a requirement to run in a hybrid AD environment.
