Microsoft Entra ID - A Perfect Fit For Education

Microsoft Entra ID allows our organization employee's to access SaaS applications and general cloud apps developed locally. We also synchronize our on premise Active Directory data using Entra connect to ensure our tenant authentication is kept up to date and avoid our employees having to remember multiple password to access the system.

We utilize on premise active directory and synchronize our identities up to our tenant via Entra connect. Users that are provisioned locally are also created in 365 and default access policies are applied automatically allowing our users to make use of our company apps straight away with minimal input from our resource and IT teams.

We use Microsoft Entra ID to secure non microsoft apps. An example is an app called Canva, we've registered this app within our tenant via an application ID and can grant access to single or groups of users with ease. Integration assistants helped us manage this and comply with Microsoft's identity platform.

We have noticed some significant changes for our end users. Mainly the ability to seamlessly access a number of resources with all the access complexity hidden behind the scenes. Our End Users aren't aware of the crossover to different services that they access, they simply log in to 365 and the rest is taken care of for them. No more registering for accounts and having to remember different password - all services we offer are accessible via one secure Active Directory enabled account.
