Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Planner

In our organization, we use the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. It includes Microsoft Planner. It plays an essential part in our business since it aids the project management, planning, and productivity of each and every employee. As for me, I mainly use it to plan my tasks every day. It keeps me on track on my deadlines and deliverables.

Cons

  • The grouping of tasks could be improved. We must be able to create folders and sub folders to group the tasks.

As I've said, in our organization, we're using the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. Microsoft Planner works seamlessly and naturally with Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, and OneDrive, which reduces friction for organizations already in that ecosystem. As to its areas for improvement, No Gantt charts, limited dependency tracking, and minimal customization compared to tools like Asana, Trello, or Jira.
Main reason is that it is cost efficient because we're already using Microsoft 365 and it's literally part of the ecosystem. No need to purchase any other software. Microsoft is also a well known company, credible for providing business solutions and has a strong enterprise compliance, data security, and governance tools. If those are priorities (especially in regulated industries), Planner benefits from Microsoft’s infrastructure.

The Microsoft Planner is well suited for individuals like me whose tasks varies everyday. It helps me manage and organize the responsibilities that I have to do every day. It also allows me to coordinate with my colleagues by just simply assigning tasks to them. It affects our productivity positively.
