Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Power Automate
We have created a couple of Power Apps that have linked automations via flows in Microsoft Power Automate. Most importantly, we use it as our main tool for distribution of technical alerts via a incoming webhook. Utilizing the Microsoft directory, we then are easily able to check for availability of developers, send out dedicated adaptive cards vis teams and once responded, feed the info in our project mgmt tools.
Pros
- Integration with Microsoft
- Ease of coding
- Openess for external integration via webhook
Cons
- Direct third party system actions
- Tracking of individual items/statistics
- Co programming
- Variety of triggers
- Multiple parallel executions
- Integration with MS teams
- Key player in our automation of maintenance tasks
- Significantly reduced manual screening of issues
- Automation of change documentation
We are using Microsoft Power Automate alongside other tools, always judging the automation scenario, necessities and limitations. Compared to UiPath e. g. Microsoft Power Automate does not offer the same customizing abilities. However it is much more advanced considering the Office suite integration. In a case where we depend on those and no other systems or tools, we much more likely would choose Microsoft Power Automate than UiPath.
