Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Power BI

We are using PowerBI to visualise data from a data source of over 200 million data points. It is currently used by data analysts and our Business Intelligence team as a quick way to view and analyse the data.
  • Quick visualisation of data
  • Easy to connect to different sources
  • Easily cusomisable
  • Security settings make it difficult to deploy to restricted users via web sites
Although we use Birst for our client facing dashboards, PowerBI is much more efficient when connecting to external data sources, and is much easier to customise. The pricing of it almost makes is preferable to other more established options like Tableau.
  • Good for quickly connecting to an external datasource (e.g. database or cube) and visualising / analysing the data.
  • Less suited (currently) for deploying on a subscription/restricted user basis on the internet.
