Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Power BI

Microsoft Power BI can be a substitute for various visualization software that is out in the market such as Tableau, TIBCO Spotfire, Cognos, QlikView and so on. The finance team uses Power BI. Many other smaller teams use Power BI for quick visualizations. And it is free of cost.
  • The interoperability with the Microsoft suite is just awesome.
  • It is a complete package as it interacts with SSRS and SSIS for ETL.
  • Easy to deploy the dashboard to a user if they use Office 365.
  • It's slow in nature.
  • The functionalities are not in one place, it's diverse.
As mentioned earlier it is free of cost and easy to learn as it is part of the Microsoft suite product. It blends well with ETL package tools such as SSRS and SSIS. It is also easy to distribute the dashboard to users of Office 365. It is a a complete Microsoft product which can be easily learned.
Microsoft Power BI is well suited for organizations where they do not have the budget to invest in visualization tools. It is less appropriate if you are working with high profile clients and want to impress them with a good story telling dashboard.
