Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Power BI

Microsoft Power BI is a strong tool able to create in a easy way strategic and corporate reporting, but still be able to analyze in detail every single transaction row to check data and assure a complete and certified information. Microsoft Power BI is used by our customers in every company department to keep control of the main KPIs and define next moves.

Pros

  • create effective dashboards in an easy way
  • produce mobile navigations
  • operative reporting

Cons

  • cooperation between Microsoft Power BI and Power Apps could be stronger
  • data model can be centralized
  • do not produce SQL code of dataset modeling
  • Daily updated reports
  • Less manual activities for the business team
  • data certification (avoiding different results based on the department who produced the report)
It is an "easy-access" tool, it can be designed and implemented also with low programming skills, but still it is really strong and allows complex analyses if you know how to exploit its potential. Cost are affordable and results enable business functions to focus on the outcome rather than on producing the report
Microsoft Power BI is more flexible and it requires less effort in order to create a working environment. The results have an attractive and customizable display. The model is a star schema therefore it do not require specific database adaptation. Excel and csv files could be added by business users avoiding the centralization of the source information.

Do you think Microsoft Power BI delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Microsoft Power BI's feature set?

Yes

Did Microsoft Power BI live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Microsoft Power BI go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Microsoft Power BI again?

Yes

Microsoft Power BI is useful for executive reporting and in all the cases you want to be free to enable business users to create and maintain their own reporting. It is very useful in a collaborative environment where the company is using MS365. I think it is less appropriate when the objective is to create offline ppt reporting as it is prefered to use Microsoft Power BI from the service environment.
