Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Power BI

Microsoft Power BI is primarily used to build dashboards by connecting data from multiple datasources. Microsoft Power BI has a very powerful query editor that allows to perform a large no of data transformation. Microsoft Power BI is further used for publishing the dashboard to a workspace and sharing it with a audience. Microsoft PowerBI helps to convert raw data in tabular form to more insightful visualizations using the large no of prebuilt charts

Pros

  • Microsoft Power BI query editor is very functional and supports a large variety of data transformation options
  • Microsoft Power BI has a large no of inbuilt graphs which can drag and dropped to the development canvas and can be used for visualisations
  • Supports automated data refresh by just scheduling the time of refresh and the frequency

Cons

  • Data loading speeds can be improved if you are working with a large dataset the data preview takes a lot of time
  • Microsoft Power BI helps business users to derive insights from data when converted to visualisations which otherwise would be hard to derive because the dats will be stored in tabular format. Once the rules are set for transformation and automated refresh is setup the report is refreshed automatically and saves the user a lot of time as he need not manually generate the report
Its very easy to use and has a drag and drop theme which makes its usability great

Microsoft PowerBI is well suited for developing dashboards by connecting to a variety of data sources. A lot of the data transformation can be performed with mininmal coding knowledge which is a big advantage of Microsoft Power BI For complicated data transformation the users needs to be aware of Dax which has a greater learning curve
