Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Project
Microsoft Project is currently being used by all of the project managers across our company. It's a great tool for controlling and monitoring projects, as well as assign resources to each phase and activity of every project. With the use of Microsoft Project Server, the files can be shared in a collaborative environment.
- Great for keeping track of time and resources of projects.
- Can calculate the overall percentage for each project.
- The Gantt Chart automatically updates.
- Sometimes the time calculation for the activities could be a little tricky.
- The resource assignment sometimes can be troublesome.
- It requires a lot of machine resources.
- The project times has been greatly reduced.
- It has been possible to identify bottlenecks.
- It has been possible to identify tasks where resources spent more time than expected.
Even though Microsoft Project is expensive, it was not as expensive as the other solutions we evaluated. The other software's that were evaluated were more expensive and required more hardware resources than Microsoft Project, the collaboration side for Microsoft Project could easily be achieved with the installation of Microsoft Project Server.
