Best Scheduling Software... Easy to Use, Manage, & Implement
Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Project
Microsoft Project is used daily at the company I work for. It is utilized for both our project schedules and our bid schedules. The program allows us to track the project progress, delays, issues, review times, and many other project details. The majority of the time, Microsoft Project is utilized by our project managers. Also, our quality control department and estimating department use the program occasionally.
Pros
- Easy to use
- Easy to update / change / manage
Cons
- More templates available
- Help section could be more descriptive (use photos)
- Positive - Keeps our projects on track.
- Positive - allows us to foresee the effects of any early delays which allows us to mitigate an issue early on and recover from any lost time
Procore allows Microsoft Project schedules to be uploaded into it. It is not an easy feature to use. The uploading is a piece of cake, but changing anything after that is challenging and never seems to track correctly for me. Maybe I need more practice but it is not a feature I use often, I prefer to use the program alone!
