Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Visual Studio Code
Visual Studio Code is used by a lot of our developers here. It's the best free code editor out there for the work we do. I am just amazed by how much you could do with it. There isn't a visual debugger like in VS 15 or newer versions but I usually debug locally and is just fine. It's also very smooth and quick. I haven't encountered any issues yet.
Pros
- The search functionality is great.
- I like how when I click on a class, it opens it to view quickly and once you click on another class it will remove that tab. Only when you double click it keeps it.
- Suggested fixes work perfectly here.
Cons
- I'd like to see visual debugging but I get the limitation.
- I honestly don't have anything negative to say about VS Code. I have enjoyed every aspect of it so far.
It has everything other editors are offering but you will find so many additions. Sometimes you don't think you need a feature until you start using it and that's the case with VS Code. So many things will pop up and make your life easier. Just because you're used to other editors, doesn't mean you shouldn't try this one out. It will be easy to move to it and use.
