Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Visual Studio Code
Microsoft Visual Studio Code is used across the whole organization. I know many people in both Information Technologies and Research & Development departments that use Microsoft Visual Studio Code. It is used to develop embedded software for electronic cards, .NET programs that are used by other business units, background services, and Python scripts that help to automate some tasks in the mainframe. Therefore it is used primarily in C/C++, C#, and Python. I used it with C (embedded software programming) and Python(for Advanced Analytics and Machine Learning.)
- Provides good UI/UX
- Runs fast thanks to its efficiency/small size
- Interface for plotting graphs (Matplotlib, Seaborn) can be improved.
- Installation of compilers can be made easier for the user.
- Allows full stack developers to work on the same platform/environment.
- Efficiency and time saving for developers.
Microsoft Visual Studio Code's strength, compared to its rivals/alternatives, is its size, efficiency, compatibility, portability, and cross-language ability. Some IDEs are focused on one or two programming languages, containing a lot of libraries, compilers, and packages but end up being huge in the disk and slow due to a lot of things that are installed that the developer does not even use most of the time. That's Microsoft Visual Studio Code's difference there. It contains essentials, is small and fast, not to mention that compatibility and interchangeability between programming languages.
