Overall Satisfaction with MIP Fund Accounting

Abila MIP is a great accounting software program if you work in the FQHC world or where you have a ton of grants you have to keep track of. We use MIP to do our Budgets, Fixed Assets, Payables, GL, and Bank Reconciliations. We use Microix to link our payroll and PO Module to this system which makes it seamless. This program allows me to track my grants many ways so I stay compliant with the Federal Government. The system is easy to use and allows me to even scan in documents like invoices so I can retrieve them later on. This is just a really good system when set up and trained properly on it.
  • Fixed Asset Tracking
  • Tracking of Grants
  • Scanning in of documents
  • Budgeting
  • Can Improve on making the upload feature easier.
  • Needs to promote their stats function better
  • Having a built in payroll module would be nice as well.
  • Saved me time during month end close thanks to copying of previous entries
  • Allows me to save time with uploading the budget
  • When set up correctly, the bank rec module saves a bunch of time as well
This software is really good as you can run reports for various funds by Revenue Code or Grant code to capture all the data you need for specific revenue streams. Like I said before, this software is amazing for the tracking of grants if you set up your chart of accounts up correctly.
I would give this software a high ranking for my use of it because I have a lot of experience setting it up properly. What I would like to learn more about this program is it's Drillpoint add on feature as this has a lot of potential to allow managers instant access to their financials and invoices when set up correctly.
I prefer MIP to the other software I have been exposed to based on cost, ease of use, and functionality. I have tried Blackbaud about 14 years ago and was not impressed as it was hard to use and not intuitive at all. As for quickbooks, I have not used that program in mane years either and do not know if it can properly track grants and different departments and locations easily or not.

Do you think MIP Fund Accounting delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with MIP Fund Accounting's feature set?

Yes

Did MIP Fund Accounting live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of MIP Fund Accounting go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy MIP Fund Accounting again?

Yes

I would recommend MIP to people working in the FQHC world as this system allows for you to track everything you need to pull financial reports out for HRSA and other government agencies. This software when set up correctly can also track your grants very well, help complete Table 8 of the UDS report, and does a great job for budgeting as well. The only knock on this program is creating upload files as it seems more complex than it needs to be.
