Overall Satisfaction with Miro

As part of our Agile Transformation, we needed a tool that would enable us to hold PI Planning Events remotely. In the past, PI Planning would be held face to face, however, the pandemic made this unfeasible. We started using the free version of Miro, however with 7 teams and over 150 people involved, we soon hit the limitations of that version. Procuring a number of flexible enterprise licenses unlocked limitless boards and other functionality that made Miro almost transparent. Rather than being limited by the tooling, we were able to concentrate on the planning. We have now held a number of fully remote, very successful, PI Planning sessions and are well on the way to transforming the way we work.
  • Multiple boards.
  • Easy user administration.
  • Useful add-ons targetted at particular activities.
  • The voting functionality can be quite clunky, and we sometimes lose the results before they can be captured.
The hardest part is getting it through internal governance. However, the SOC11 certification and other security policy documents from Miro help that process.

Miro is well suited to the early stages of planning, where the details are still being captured. Once the details are captured, it's easier to use something like Jira or Excel to manipulate the data.
