An online tool that finally matches how my brain works
Overall Satisfaction with Miro
Campaign planning, process mapping, ideation, moodboarding... They're all done more easily on Miro than any other of our software. We also have several of these things happening on a single board that acts like a virtual version of the whiteboard and notice board in a physical office.
Pros
- Putting visual thoughts onto a screen with easy commenting
- Allows linking of other websites, documents and files
- Allows commenting and discussion against individual assets on a board
- Looks good and makes thought processes easy to follow
Cons
- More stickers for decoration (they really help signpost people)
- Multi-team access to a single board (like shortcuts on Google Drive)
- Simpler to allow external people to comment and see boards
- Remote teams can colloborate asynchronously on a large canvas and that means we have fewer documents floating around and therefore less wasted time sourcing them.
- I don't see any hard ROI figures from Miro.
We used a shared Miro for three ICs to help document our thoughts on our new website's needs. We could then comment on each other's input and push / stress test what was there. One of us could then centralise this VERY easily into the final submission ready for the next steps.
This couldn't have been done without multiple docs and tools otherwise.

Miro is purposely designed for collaborative ideation whereas the others are more all encompassing tools.
