Overall Satisfaction with NetSuite

We are using NetSuite for ERP and CRM functionality.

We chose NetSuite over SAP Business One and Microsoft Dynamics NAV due to the dashboard reporting and its ease of use in editing one and creating one. We are a start up company which I expect our revenues to hit $5 million in year one so to get the basic functionality with shortcuts for the standard AR/AP, GL we could get with the competition. We're a small company and didn't want to have a close to full time IT analyst with us so we invested in having the extra functionality with having a cloud solution.

Pros

  • Building dashboards
  • Ease of finding things with its search capabilities
  • Ease of use with its web interface

Cons

  • The OneWorld consolidation feature considering how much we paid for it doesn't handle multi-company, multi-currency very well in that it makes you do the inter company journal entries anyways instead of recording it through the modules.
  • I wish NetSuite had process costing as part of its manufacturing modules but it doesn't.
  • Faster decision making based on business dashboards
  • Quick implementation
  • Easy to use for employee use
We compared to Microsoft Dynamics NAV and SAP Business One and chose Netsuite for its ease of use and business dashboarding.
NetSuite is more suited for a mid-market e-commerce, consulting services, or assembly build type of customer with fairly straight forward requirements both public and private companies.

NetSuite Reliability

Adding users only requires a phone call and maybe a day later those users has access if done by the administrator.
Our Netsuite implementation has never gone down since we implemented about a year ago. We've been given plenty of notice for any maintenance to be done on the network, typically at least 6 weeks in advance.

Hello, Was interested in your comment about multicurrency/multicompany. "The OneWorld consolidation feature considering how much we paid for it doesn't handle multi-company, multi-currency very well in that it makes you do the inter company journal entries anyways instead of recording it through the modules." are you saying this doesn't work for you? When we demo'd the product it looked fully automated, just curious what we may have missed or if perhaps this has been fixed in the application.

Hi KaReese, What I meant at the time of the review was that the multi-company consolidation out if the box is not set to automatically eliminate entries, especially intercompany receivables and payables unless you set it up that way which wasn't explained to us by the 3rd party consulting company or they didn't know. I only recently found out via phone support for eliminating intercompany receivables and payables what the proper procedure was and the enhancements that have been suggested but not yet part of the of the "out of the box solution" I hope this answers your question. If not contact me at rwong@cfo2go.ca Thanks
